In Bible Study last night Jason read me one of his favourite verses, Luke 9:62. It reads: "And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.".
We were talking about looking back at the past. Whilst from time to time it's okay to reminisce, I mean I love telling anyone of the time I rode 100km in 2hrs10mins in a bicycle race, if we look too much in the past we are not living in the present and are not embracing the future He has planned for us.
Some people get scared of the future because it is the unknown but this is where our faith comes into it. We need to have faith in Him, in His plan for us, that He always believes in us but also that He saved us. That fact will give us faith in our future and present. Jesus wants us to embrace the future. Not to be scared of it, but to know that He is there for us always, even if we stumble on the path or if we think about turning around and going back. The thing about all paths though is that you never get to the reward at the end unless you are moving forward.
So keep on moving forward, keep your hand on the plough and have a great weekend :-)
